Artist

This painting is called 'Faithfulness' and is inspired by Julia Contacessi St. Helena. It's one of my first forays into abstract and gold foil, and it was a lot of fun.

This painting is acrylic on canvas and is a depiction of one of the falls from a favourite hike of mine: Johnston Canyon near Banff.

This "Forest Path" painting is three canvases melded into one entity. I enjoyed applying the palette knife painting technique.

I painted this acrylic on canvas painting after seeing a similar one. It was for the nursery of my baby daughter.

This painting is acrylic on canvas, and it currently hangs in my bedroom. It has mine and my husbands' wedding verse from Ruth. Don't tell my husband, but it's also inspired by the lanterns from "Tangled".

This is one of my first palette knife paintings.

One of my favourite places in Jasper National Park is Athabasca Falls. This is an acrylic painting inspired by the falls, hidden by the fog.

This is one of my favourite paintings. I studied a painting by Leonid Afremov and I love the mystery behind the scenery.

The image below stems from my love of astronomy and my attempts to capture the nighttime sky.

When I had my children and painting time became scarce, I dabbled in using Copic markers. I wrote and illustrated a book for my daughter about a crime fighting unicorn, and these are some of my illustrations.

One of my newest paintings integrated alcohol ink with my acrylic painting. I applied alcohol ink to yupo paper, then punched out circles to create the leaves of my forest.

This is another acrylic painting inspired by the northern lights and the mountains.

To the left is a painting of twilight.

I have been reading "Me and White Supremacy" by Layla Saad. It has really opened my eyes to my own white privilege. So I'm making some art to explore it, but shaping it around the Fibonacci sequence... just because. 1 shows my own ignorance of Alberta's history. As a white person, I always saw the First Nations as one culture and I ignored that there were many beautiful and distinct cultures. I reimagined the Alberta coat of arms, reflecting only some of 45 tribes whose ancestral land I occupy. The top shows Chipewyan, the mountains a Chiniki Stoney teepee. The canoe shows the traditional canoe of Ktunaxa tribe. The bottom was inspired by moccasins created by the Bigstone Cree tribe.

"Baby of Mine" Acrylic on Canvas, 91.5cmx30.5cm. This image came to me as I snuggled my baby one night. He's getting older and only wants to wiggle. I may only get so many more snuggles from him...

Above is a painting called, "Legacy." It's about climate change and the legacy we will leave our children. I painted it specifically with the Alberta Government in mind and their backwards policies regarding the environment.
